(*) BB30 users - There are two axle lengths in that system and it is easy to distinguish the two. Longer spindle has big a 16mm spacer on the drive hand side, while the shorter spindle only has 10mm spacer there. Using absoluteBlack chainrings with a longer spindle creates an ideal chainline of around 49mm (meaning, it works great). On the other hand, using the same ring with a shorter spindle pushes the ring inboard by 6mm resulting in a chainline of 43mm. In a case such as this, you cannot use the chainkeeper as it will not fit to a such small chainline and some frames may not accept the ring at all (resulting in touching chainstays).

Always use correct chain length

*Bypassing the rear derailleur, run the chain around front chainring/largest cog combination. (For the full suspension frame, position the rear suspension for the greatest chain length required. It's usually a normal position where rear shock if fully extended)

*Add 2 segments of the chain to this length for proper chain length.
